Route 66

Route 66. Road trips in the desert heat. Small town heroes. Elvis songs playing out of petrol bowser's. Iconic road signs. Clear blue skies. Cadillac Ranch. Abandoned streets. Welcoming locals. Thrift shops galore. Drinks outside Chevy. Big Texan Steak Ranch. Lonely drives through New Mexico. Secret spring fed river. Red rock mountains. Pot plants on roof tops. 1960’s diner. Vintage cinema re-running Beauty & The Beast. Cheap motels. Neon signs. Murals aplenty.  Mexican inspired streets. Desert casinos. Watching daybreak and sundown. Sleeping in a teepee. Climbing the roof of our van. Reaching the cactus land. Breaking down. Learning patience. Returning back on the road. Welcome (back) to California.
